A Florida mother released a cry so loud that Circuit Judge Matthew Foxman had to repeat the announcement of her young daughter being sentenced to 20 years in prison for robbery.
Ky’Andrea Cook, 18, was linked to two carjacking incidents in March, both involving violence−more specifically one teen being shot, according to Orlando Sentinel.
It was reported that the former Daytona Beach Mainland High School student did not work alone and had accomplices.
However, she was arrested on April 27 for using a dating app called “Meet Me” to get victims to a space where she carjacked them, prosecutors say.
Cook did accept a plea deal that dropped a conspiracy charge, which carried a maximum penalty of life in prison.
The teen victim who was harmed in the act is still in recovery.
