Written by Intern Writer @Ashley_Janice || “It’s not goodbye, it’s just good night, friend”, Nancy Grace says as she ended her program on HLN Thursday night. Sadly, after 12 years Nancy Grace has decided to step down from her most iconic position as HLN TV’s host. On Thursday Grace revealed the true reason of her departure with,”I wouldn’t say that I wanted to leave, I would say it was the right time for me to leave.” Although Grace’s first goal was to become a literature professor, her trajectory in crime investigation was motivated in 1979 shortly after her 23 year old fiancé Keith Griffin, was murdered one day before the couple was set to wed.
The 56 year old commentator finished her final show with business as usual, covering a current crime story. According to The Daily Mail, Grace signed “off by highlighting some of her most popular moments on the program, including her coverage of the Casey Anthony trial, before thanking her fans.” Grace announced her exit off HLN earlier this year in June stating, “This fall, I’ll be leaving HLN, my longtime TV home, with a full heart and endless gratitude.” She even mentioned her reasoning for departure was due to her contract expiring.
“As long as there’s breathe in my body I intend to keep fighting for crime victims in whatever capacity I can”, Grace added. Apparently, it looks like Grace will have plenty of time with her husband David Linch whose an investment banker, and their 8 year old twins Lucy Elizabeth and John David. Her time slot will be replaced with former anchor of the Legal View on CNN, Ashleigh Banfield.
Grace has not confirmed her next steps within her career, but we want to wish her well on her future endeavors, and we want to thank her for giving us 12 years of timeless true crime stories.
