This R. Kelly circus continues…
As of Tuesday morning, Joycelyn Savage, 21, reached out to TMZ via video interview to inform that she is “totally fine,” despite her family’s allegations that she has been brainwashed and held hostage within a cult.
“I am not being brainwashed or anything like that,” Savage told TMZ. “I just want everybody to know, my parents and everybody else in the world that I am totally fine and happy where I’m at.”
On Monday, Savage’s parents held a press conference on the heels of a story reported by Buzzfeed that detailed accused R.Kelly of conducting a sex-fueled cult with young girls and aspiring singers. The article alleged that Kelly is holding 6 women hostage and controlling their lives across 2 residences in Chicago and Atlanta. The viral story claims he dictates when they can bathe, eat, use the restroom, dress, and have sex.
During the press conference alongside another alleged victim, Jocelyn’s parents insisted their daughter was brainwashed, even claiming that she’s experiencing Stockholm syndrome, a condition where individuals fall or in love or admiration with their captors.
After uneventful welfare checks and multiple police calls, Savage’s parents, Tim and Jonjelyn Savage, report that they have not seen their daughter since December 2016.
In an interview with TMZ, Jocelyn informed she’s been M.I.A with her parents because of their persistent claims that Kelly has her brainwashed. On video, she claimed they were “causing problems in my life”and that she doesn’t “speak with them because of what they’re doing.”
In hindsight of the claims, R. Kelly has vehemently denied the abusive cult allegations. Check out what Kelly’s rep had to say about the matter below:
“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
