The Rockets aren’t playing any games for the upcoming season as they announced the team has extended their contract with 5-time NBA All-Star, James Harden.
According to ESPN,
Harden’s progressing toward adding four years onto Houston current deal, an extension that could guarantee him $228M through 2022-23 season.
The Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander released this statement on the extension with Harden,
“Since he arrived in Houston, James has exhibited the incredible work ethic, desire to win, and passion to be the best that has made him one of the most unique and talented superstars in the history of the game.”
“Additionally, the commitment he has shown to our organization, the City of Houston, and Rockets fans all over the world makes him a perfect leader in our pursuit of another championship.”
Harden most definitely deserved this as he lead the Rockets to the NBA Playoffs and earnings the runner up for the NBA MVP award averaging 29.1 points, a league-high 11.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three.
