Breaking News: ‘El Chapo’ Judge Gunned Down In Front Of His Mexico Home

One of the most notorious drug lord’s of all time, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has his name back in recent news after the Mexican judge presiding over “El Chapo” case has been assassinated.

On Monday, Vincete Antonio Bermudez Zacaria, a federal judge in Mexico, was fatally shot in the head while jogging in the front of his Metepec, Mexico home (which is 45 mins away From Mexico City). Despite the motive behind this unexpected murder remaining unclear at the moment, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has stated, the attorney’s general office will lead a thorough investigation.

The 37-year-old judge was all too familiar with presiding over appeals for various accused drug lords, including El Chapo (leader of the Sinaloa cartel), Abigael Gonzalez Valencia (leader of Los Cuinis) and Miguel Trevino ( leader of Zetas cartel) whose currently in prison. According to mySA.com, the judge wasn’t given any protection while presiding over those cases.

Multiple media outlets have reported an alleged video of the execution including, the killer wearing dark clothing fleeing the scene shortly after running behind judge Zacarias and shooting him in the back of his head at point-blank range. However, El Chapo who has escaped from prison twice before is currently serving time in a federal prison in Cuidad Juarez, nearby the Texas-Mexico border. Still, in the beginning of 2017, El Chapo could be extradited to the United States. Reportedly by AP, El Chapo is wanted in seven U.S. jurisdictions for a variety of charges, including murder, conspiracy to import and distribute drugs, money-laundering and arms possession.
