Dallas Cowboys Golden Boy has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after 16 seasons.
According to ESPN,
“But the decision to leave football already has been made. His run as the Cowboys’ quarterback — and an NFL player — officially ends Tuesday.”
Romo will pursue a board casting position for a major network. Romo, 36, has received interest from CBS, Fox and NBC, and can choose to be a color commentator where he wants. That move could come as early as Tuesday.
The Tony Romo era maybe over, but his legacy in Dallas will be missed. Romo has been of the most criticized athletes over the last few years of his career over injuries, some lackluster performances, and missing the playoffs. The writing have been on the way for Romo but this boardcasting opportunity will be perfect for him.
