According to friends, movie star Angelina Jolie isn’t quite ready to divorce Brad Pitt. As I’d like to call them, the ‘White Will & Jada’, it came as a shock to many when news of Angelina Jolie filing for divorce broke. Things have been very nasty and public between the two since their split in September 2016. From having drinking problems to accusations of being physically abusive and also a FBI investigation, Brad Pitt’s had it rough. It’s been speculated that all of it was a public smear campaign orchestrated by Jolie and her team.
Fast forward a couple months and it now appears that Jolie has had a change of heart. The 42 year old actress has been ‘stalling’ on the divorce proceedings.
According to a close insider, ‘The divorce is off. They haven’t done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to.’
Brad Pitt being truthful about his drinking in an interview with GQ this past May is what caused Jolie to stop and rethink divorce. The effort of self-improvement for her and their 6 children is what really struck a chord. A friend of Jolie’s told ‘Us Weekly’ that she would even consider taking him back ‘if he showed he was committed to raising a family’. The source went on to say that Pitt ‘got sober to try and win her back’.
‘Everyone thinks they are going to get back together. It wouldn’t be surprising if they announced that they’re calling it off and trying to work things out,’ according to the source.
Brad seemed to have quit alcohol cold turkey.
The 53 year old actor claimed in his GQ interview that he now sticks to cranberry juice and carbonated water. He went on to admit that his drinking had been a problem and that his parenting style needed to change as well. The movie star also confessed to entering therapy and has been seen turning to art for healing, holding up in an LA studio to make sculptures.
While there hasn’t been any real change, the inside source says the two ‘are getting along for the sake of their children’, and that this type of effort is all Jolie ever wanted from Pitt.
