Ciara Drops Libel Case Against Ex Future

Ciara has dropped her libel case against Future for obvious reasons.

The 30-year-old, newly-crowned Revlon global brand ambassador has reportedly dropped her libel case against Future due to how successful she is and because she hasn’t suffered any damages from Future’s harsh words.

CiCi’s lawyer, Larry Stein, filed legal documents dismissing their claim after Future said a few not-so-nice things about his baby’s mother, including “This bitch got control problems.”

Ouch Future.

The tricky thing with libel folks is you have to be able to prove in court that you’ve suffered financially from the words the other person has said. With this global brand ambassador position under the “Ride” singer’s belt, Ciara is actually making more money than Future. The songstress has a net-worth of $18 million while Future has a net-worth of $5 million.

This doesn’t mean Future isn’t still getting sued. Russell Wilson is suing Future for what legal gurus like to call, “false light.” False light, in a nutshell, is making someone look like something they aren’t. The difference between false light and libel is Ciara doesn’t have to prove that she has lost any money. Ciara could win this case for the emotional trauma that she has had to deal with during that time Future was talking smack about her.

And so the saga continues…
