Former NBA coach Derek Fisher made the news a couple of weeks ago after overturning an escalade SUV with girlfriend Gloria Govan in the passenger seat. The two were driving back from a dinner on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles when Fisher lost control and slammed into a guardrail, flipping over the vehicle. Fisher was driving under the influence at the time. To make things worse, the car Fisher crashed was actually registered to Gloria’s ex husband Matt Barnes. Awkward.
Well things aren’t looking any better for the former Laker, as he has been officially charged with two counts of DUI. If convicted, Fisher could be looking up to 6 months in jail. Seeing that this is his first offense, it’s more than likely that he wont get any jail time, but instead have to deal with probation and fines. Here’s to hoping that Fisher will learn a valuable lesson from this mess he’s created.
