Eddie Murphy Tweets About A Coming To America Sequel, Fans Express Mixed Feelings

What’s this we here about a ‘Coming to America Sequel?’

Late Wednesday night, Eddie Murphy tweeted about a ‘Coming to America’ sequel that has left many people with mixed feelings.

The fact that Eddie posted a tweet to begin with is pretty unusual by itself considering Murphy’s Twitter account was almost entirely retweets and now the page no longer exists.

Most of the retweets were of his poorly-received new movie ‘Mr. Church,’ butΒ this tweet was different. Murphy asked, “Coming to America sequel?” and included a picture of actress Vanessa Bell Calloway as Imani Izzi in her iconic gold dress.

There is still no indication about whether he was brainstorming, revealing secret plans, musing, or simply trolling. Regardless whatΒ MurphyΒ was doing, he got a lot of people’s attention.

Many people, of course, were thrilled at the possibility of a sequel to the 1988 classic. Check out the tweets below:

However, not everyone was feeling the idea.

And one person realized the concept might not work so well in President Donald Trump’s America.
