Just as he is talented in front of the camera, actor Jay Ellis is out to prove that he’s also got what it takes behind it as well. The ‘Insecure’ star is just came out wth a new new show ‘Hard Medicine’. Ellis executive produced this comedy web series with creative partner Paula Bryant-Ellis. The workplace comedy will be showcased on the Urban Movie Channel, a subscription-based streaming service created by Robert L. Johnson.
Created by Melissa Eno Effa, the eight-episode project centers on a quirky medical doctor of a low-income health clinic who must maneuver between demanding corporate heads, outlandish patients and her wacky but loyal staff — all in an effort to keep the community’s haven of health care afloat. Effa stars along with Nicole Slaughter, Celest Turner, Jeff Hunt and Ashley Narvaez. The series will be available to stream August 16 on UMC.
The first and second ‘Hard Medicine’ episodes premiered earlier this month via Jay Ellis’ Facebook page. The remaining six will premiere weekly on UMC starting August 16.
