Comedian Martin Lawrence isn’t feeling too optimistic about Bad Boys 3 hitting the big screen anytime soon, Entertainment Weekly reports.
“I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” Lawrence told EW. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
In the last year, plans for the third installment got derailed after director Joe Canahan dropped the franchise, citing scheduling issues. As a result, the film’s release date of November 2018 was scrapped from the schedule in February.
In 2016, Lawrence’s co-star Will Smith teased fans about Bad Boys 3 being ‘very close’ to happening. “I love that dude,” Smith said. “That’s among the best times I’ve ever had making movies. So I’m looking forward to it.”
Despite the delays on production, Lawrence claims he’s ready if the moment ever arises. “I’m there, I’m ready right now,” he told EW. “If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”
