“HNDRXX is more personal,” he told Beats 1. “This is the Honest album I was supposed to have been honest about. When it was time to have the Honest album [in 2014], I was like, ‘Okay.’ I was just using it as a title instead of being able to actually be honest in the music. This is it. This is HNDRXX. This is me opening up and letting it all out so I can moved past it and certain things, I won’t have to speak on it again.”

A month after releasing The Search for Everything Wave One, his first debut in three years, Mayer has dropped The Search for Everything Wave Two. The second EP contains another four tracks, two of which — “Emoji of a Wave” and “Roll it on Home” — contain wave imagery right in the title.
Thundercat’s Drunk follows 2015’s mini-album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam and 2013’s Apocalypse. Collaborators on the LP include Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Kenny Loggins, and Michael McDonald.
