Passengers Evacuated After Atlanta MARTA Train Catches Fire

According to recent reports, passengers were evacuated off a MARTA train near North Avenue Station Thursday evening after it caught fire in Atlanta, GA.

MARTA Public Information officer Erik Burton stated the cabin filled with smoke and passengers were evacuated through a tunnel to a neighboring station.

Burton also informed that there were more than 100 people on the train at the time of the fire who had to be evacuated. At this time, no one has reported to have sustained serious injuries.

The Atlanta Fire Department is currently investigating what caused the fire.
