Report: Lakers Considering Passing on Lonzo Ball In Draft, Team concerned with Father

The Ball family has made it very well known that their UCLA McDonald’s All-American standout, Lonzo Ball, will only want to be drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. Officially, Ball has his time to shine in front of  his dream team next week as he will workout for the Lakers June 7th.

Although, Ball would have to “blow the doors off,” during his workout with Magic Johnson and the Lakers. The team thinks, “he may not be the Lakers’ guy,” according to Basketball Insider. As the Post-Kobe era continues for the Lakers, they seem more interested in Kansas’ forward, Josh Jackson or Kentuckys’ guard De’Aaron Fox, who’d be a much better fit for the young core of the Lakers.

According to The HuffPost,

Per source, the would pass on Lonzo Ball if was today. Team isn’t convinced he’s a star and remains concerned about LaVar.

Per source, re Lonzo Ball: “It’s not even close right now. Ball won’t be a Laker unless they really start 2 buy into him as a star.”

Per , Lonzo Ball will work out with the on June 7. Needless to say, both workout and interview process must be gr8.

Could LaVar Ball be to blame for the Lakers concerns for his son? Maybe Ball isn’t ready for his NBA debut just yet. Could be a mix of the two although, young 19-year-old isn’t his father or should be punished for his Father’s actions. Reasoning is that with Lonzo, comes the fire and passionate support from his hasbeen Dad LaVar. If you know the Lakers franchise, LaVar Ball just doesn’t fit their brand and that is their main concern.
