Sean Spicer Says Hitler Didn’t Use Chemical Weapons, Apologizes For Statement

White House Secretary Sean Spicer is under fire once again for his choice of words.

Spicer flubbed Tuesday during a press conference saying that Hitler had not used gas chemicals on his people during WWII in an analogy referencing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad‘s most recent chemical attack.

“We didn’t use chemical weapons in World War II. You know, you had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,” Mr. Spicer said.

And of course, this guy is an idiot. It’s known history that Hitler used chemical weapons during the execution of millions of Jews in gas chambers during the Holocaust.

When asked to clarify his statement, Mr. Spicer attempted to correct himself acknowledging the Holocaust.“I think when you come to sarin gas, he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing,” Spicer said.

Despite his back track, social media still went up in arms for Spicer’s statement.

During an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, the press secretary apologized and admitted that he had made a mistake with his statement.
“I was obviously trying to make a point about the heinous acts that Assad had made against his own people last week, using chemical weapons and gas. Frankly, I mistakenly made an inappropriate and insensitive reference to the Holocaust, for which there is no comparison,” Spicer said. “And for that I apologize. It was a mistake to do that.”
This administration is undeniably a PR nightmare. Check out Blitzer’s interview with Spicer below.
