Steve Harvey’s ex-wife, Mary L. Vaughn, is suing him for $60 million and bringing forth serious allegations against the comedian.
In documents obtained by E! News, Vaughn is accusing him of torture, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract, and “soul murder.” The lawsuit states: “Soul murder is achieved by a combination of torture, deprivation and brainwashing.”
Harvey and Vaughn had one child together, Wynton Harvey. The former couple was married from 1996 until 2005, and Vaughn says she has since been suicidal and self-medicating.
Vaughn was jailed for 30 days in 2013 for contempt of court after violating the terms of a gag order in the couple’s divorce. She released a series of Youtube videos last month expressing her grievances with Steve and his current wife, Marjorie.
She said in one video, “I want him charged with a constitutional rights violation, falsifying documents, perjury, contempt of court, embezzlement, extortion and collusion. For what he’s done to me, I want to see Steve Harvey behind bars.”
Prior to his relationship with Vaughn, Harvey was married to Marcia Harvey for 14 years. They share three children — daughters Brandi and Karli and son Broderick.
