It appears the drama on set was messier than the drama on screen.
In recent news two of Hollywood’s black queen actresses Nia Long and Taraji P. Henson are at odds after a few disagreements took place on set of FOX’S hit show Empire.
Just within 24 hours of the story breaking headlines it appears TMZ, is reporting legal action is allegedly taking place.
According to multiple sources, this is the first complaint of the show’s history. The hair and makeup team on the set of Empire made a complaint over Long’s allegedly rude comments. While the report states “well- placed production sources”, the Love Jones actress threatened to sue the show over an “improper goodbye”.
After learning of Long’s disrespectful and unprofessional comments on the show, it didn’t take long for (Cookie) Taraji P. Henson to set the record straight. Reportedly, the hostility on set was so bad producers were forced to shoot seperate scenes to avoid a possible confrontation.
On top of Long’s feud with the makeup and hair team, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson was forced to use a stand in to rehearse because, Long would be “habitually late” forcing Howard and Henson to wait 30 minutes to shoot.
Long is also allegedly following her suit over an “improper goodbye” stating it’s in her contract. On set its a daily routine for guest stars to have their names announced once they’ve finished their scene, a round of applause, and a “thank you”. Unfortunately, Howard was suffering from an allergic reaction causing his lips to swell, so Long didn’t receive her “improper goodbye”, and shortly fled the scene.
Reps for the esteemed actress spoke with TMZ responding to the alleged allegations.
“We stand by our comments this morning that Nia has always, and continues to be, a consummate professional on set. In respect to her working relationships with the cast, she came onto this project, in the first place, because of her long-standing friendship and professional relationship with Terrence Howard.”
“We are not aware of any complaint, suit or case against her from anyone involved in the show, and we find the timing of all these stories to be very suspicious, given that the series returns tonight.”
Nia Long insists the allegations are all untrue.
